Description supplied by the source
Building on the fiber network it has deployed past over 8 million residences and businesses in North Carolina and 24 other states, Frontier proposes to invest $6,759,201 to extend its XGS-PON Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in Cherokee County to make Frontier’s premier symmetrical fiber service tiers, currently ranging from 200 Mbps to 7 Gbps, and other value-added services available to an additional 519 locations. Greater fiber connectivity in the County will help boost economic development and enhance access to remote work, education, and telehealth services for community residents. XGS-PON FTTP is described as “future-proof” because of its high-capacity bandwidth, scalability, and readiness for evolution. Frontier’s XGS-PON FTTP network will provide Cherokee County access to the blazing fast fiber that supports both its current and future connectivity needs.
